Was uns das Bauchgefühl sagt: Lange bevor unser Gehirn es erfassen kann, spürt unser Bauch bereits, wenn etwas aus dem Gleichgewicht geraten ist. Doch wie können wir uns einen planetarischen Stoffwechsel vorstellen?  
The Belly Knows Before the Brain schlägt einen Perspektivenwechsel auf Verdauung und Stoffwechsel vor - hin zu einer ökologisch artenübergreifenden Praxis. Die raumgreifende Installation ist als Bauch des Universums konzipiert, in dem Verdauung räumlich, sensorisch und kollektiv erfahrbar wird. Wie Mikroorganismen im planetarischen Verdauungssystem besiedeln Skulpturen den Raum. Ein Komposthaufen im Innenhof wird zur Eröffnung gestartet und reift durch die Fürsorge der Besucher*innen.  

What our gut feeling tells us: Long before our brain can grasp it, our belly already senses when something becomes unbalanced. But how can we imagine a planetary metabolism? The Belly Knows Before the Brain proposes a change of perspective on digestion and metabolism - towards an ecological practice across species. The expansive installation is conceived as the belly of the universe, in which digestion becomes spatially, sensorially, and collectively tangible. Planetary digestive organisms, embodied as sculptures, inhabit the space. A compost in the courtyard, maturing through the nurturing of visitors, will be started at the exhibition opening.
